W/C 3rd July

This week in maths we have been focusing on problem solving. We have had a range of different activities and have had to use trial and error to complete them. They haven’t been easy but after lots of hard work and determination most of us have solved all of the challenges.

This week in literacy we have completed our Julia Donaldson book reviews and acted out Stickman. Next week we will be doing some outside learning looking for suitable twigs to make our own stickman. We will then use them to help us retell the story.

Whilst half the class were swimming the rest of the class went up to do some pond dipping. We were surprised by how insects and creatures we found! The rest of the class will pond dip next week!

We have finally finished all of our toy dinosaurs! Thank you to all the helpers who came in and helped us!

Well done to Lilly, Ella and Lewis who will be going to the RED TED tea party. Keep reading as much as possible, lots of children only need a few more stamps!

Well done to Bridiemarie, Melissa, Imogen and Amelie who have all made it through to the talent show final.

Please can all outstanding library books be returned on Monday.

W/C 26th June

This week in literacy we have been busy writing a recount of our class trip before moving back to our topic on Julia Donaldson and writing a book review of our favourite book.

This week in maths we have recapped division and the method we use before moving on to division with remainders. We now know that remainders means parts left over. Later in the week, we used our new knowledge to solve division word problems.

After lots of concentration, patience and hard work most of us have finished sewing our toy dinosaurs! We think you’ll agree they look great!

Keep reading to earn those stamps, the RED TED tea party will be in the last week of term!

Dinosaur Park
We had an amazing time on Monday at the Dinosaur Adventure Park on Monday. We were very lucky with the weather! Once we arrived, we split up into our groups and went exploring, finding out lots of facts to complete our information booklets. We explored the Dinosaur Maze, Dinosaur Trail, Neanderthal walk and the Animal Garden. After lunch we all got to dig for fossils! As always, Mrs Cryan was very impressed with everyone’s behaviour and attitude.

Class assembly

A massive well done to everyone for working so hard on their amazing class assembly. It was fantastic to see so many adults there, thank you for coming! We hope you enjoyed it!
