This week has been 'Special Writing' week. Once a term all the children produce a piece of written work completely independent. This writing is in their Special Writing book which stays with them all the way through school. The children were asked to retell and change the story of The Tiger Who Came to Tea. Mrs Cryan was very impressed with everyone's hard work.
In our topic lessons this week we have pretended to be bakers in The Great Fire of London. The children had to work as a group to follow instructions to make salt dough bread. After the salt dough had been made the children designed their own bread. Mrs Cryan was very impressed; some people made rolls and french sticks while others chose to plait theirs! Once the salt dough had been cooked and left over night, it was ready to be painted. Once the paint was dry we were able to varnish it. We were very impressed with our bread, we will be taking it home next week!
On Friday Mrs Cryan's class were lucky enough to have a specialist dodge ball lesson. We learnt the 4 D's of dodge ball (dodge, duck, dip, dive). We really enjoyed the session and everyone loved the games!
This week Maths Monkeys, Molly and Monty, went home with Daisy and Isaac. The whole class were very excited to hear of their adventures. This week they have gone home with Mikey and Samuel.
A HUGE well done to all of the children who earnt their RED TED cap this week! Keep reading at home, lots of us are only a few reads away from getting a cap!
